However, coconut milk is high in fat and calories, which can cause digestive upset including diarrhoea and vomiting, and excessive consumption over time can contribute to obesity and pancreatitis. Many shop-bought coconut milks also contain added sugars, preservatives, and thickeners such as carrageenan and guar gum, which can further irritate a dog's stomach.
